We have yet to meet a person that likes cold sores. Chances are, you haven’t either. Since cold sores are generally undesirable to most people, we’ve compiled a list of remedies that may help provide relief for those suffering from cold sores.

Ice – applying ice to the affected area may provide relief from cold sores and may also prevent them from spreading. However, you must be careful to limit the amount of time that you expose your skin to very cold temperatures.
Warm Beverages – perhaps it’s ironic that cold sores can be treated by warm drinks. Warm water, juice (especially those with vitamin C) or tea may be helpful in quickly reducing cold sores. Warm drinks have the added benefit of reducing the main associated with cold sores.
Vitamins – in addition to vitamin C, other vitamins that are helpful in fighting cold sores are vitamin B and vitamin B-12. Supplements or foods with these vitamins are therefore desirable.
Aloe Vera – aloe vera and aloe vera-based products can help relieve many ailments, including cold sores. Aloe Vera Gel may be used directly on the cold sore, you can also drink the Aloe Vera Gel which is good for you in other ways to boot.
