Let’s face it – no one enjoys having dry skin. It’s unpleasant, it can be unsightly and it can also be rather painful. Beyond that, it’s not what nature intended.
Generally speaking, people with dry skin have essentially the opposite problem that people with oily skin have – they have low levels of sebum, which means that their body’s level of oil production is below average. However, a normal level of oil production is an essential element of healthy and elastic skin.
While we can’t recommend any particular brand, we can say that a good moisturizing cream that is well balance and neither too light nor heavy can help. Some recommend using skin care products made from aloe vera, which we also recommend, and others recommend “dead sea” lotions (these are lotions that contain ingredients found in the Dead Sea).
Chamomile based creams and lotions are also sometimes recommended as a remedy for dry skin.
Beyond skin care products, perhaps one of the most overlooked issues to consider is your diet. Diet is probably one of the leading culprits behind so many of our ailments.
So it is important to take a careful look at your diet and make healthy adjustments. If you are in doubt or are not sure how to do so, please consult a medical professional or nutritionist.
Here are some dietary essentials for skin health:
Omega-3 oils
Vitamin E
Vitamin B
These can be consumed in through food or through supplements.
